| Further to our telephone conversation earlier please
find below the produce that we have been using
you technology on:
Stone fruit from Italy, Spain
Citrus from USA, Argentina and South Africa
Apples from USA
Cherries from USA, Europe
We have had good results in all the produce but
significantly in citrus and stone fruit where
we stored the fruit for up to 28 days after we
had received them. The quality was maintained
throughout the storage period. This has allowed
us to order large quantities at reduced prices
and be able to store them for longer periods without
losing the quality attributes, which are of paramount
importance when you are supplying the major UK
supermarkets.
With cherries, even though the bags managed to
prolong the shelf life of the product, the major
advantage was the fact that the stalks remained
green and fresher for a longer period than the
produce that was not bagged. This again is an
important attribute when dealing with UK retail
outlets indicating that the product is fresh.
