LLS smart technology trial protocol

1. Write down the objectives of the trial
   For example, to test for weight loss after 4 weeks storage; or
   to compare changes in eating quality over 4 weeks as against our
   existing packaging; or to test the feasibility of using sea freight instead of airfreight (or standard reefers instead of controlled atmosphere containers)
   DO NOT MAKE THE TRIAL COMPLICATED.
   TEST FOR ONE OUTCOME AT A TIME.
   RUN A SECOND TRIAL TO RESOLVE A SECOND QUERY.
   
2. Prepare the data collection sheets
   See attached Pro Forma sheets as an example. Please call for alternatives
   
3. Ensure that all fresh produce is dry and moisture-free.
   
4. Print out Packing Protocol
   
5. Print out applicable Fresh Produce Protocol
   
6. Read both & follow their instructions
   
7. Where unable to follow, write down every departure from the Protocols
   
8. Where the trial includes transporting the fresh produce, it is essential that the company that will receive the trial fruit/vegetables is INFORMED of the purpose of the trial and can easily IDENTIFY the cartons involved.
